Transcarpathian Regional Centre for Socio-Economic and Humanities Research of NAS of Ukraine (established in 1996) is the state research institution, a department of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. It is the only academic institution of Ukraine, which deals with the issues of sustainable development in the region.

The major research activities of our institution are: research problems of socio-economic development of Transcarpathia, Carpathian region (euroregion), issues of regional labour market, social and political problems of civic opinion on urgent issues of domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine; cross-border cooperation with neighboring countries, which become members of the EU, the impact of the EU on regional development, as well as the possible consequences associated with its expansion to the borders of Ukraine; performing complex scientific works of interdisciplinary topics, developing scientific recommendations to improve the ecological situation in the region.

The Centre is searching for and developing social partnership, implementing progressive ideas into the scientific process and new approaches to the study of socio-economic problems of Transcarpathia.

We have set up a modern website that will represent our institution and by which we will inform you about scientific events of the Center.
